Set up HERE Location Reasoning in Kiro
Connect HERE Location Reasoning to Kiro by installing the HERE Location Reasoning plugin as a custom power, then authenticating with your HERE account. Kiro signs you in through your browser, so you don't generate tokens yourself.
Before you begin
Make sure your HERE account is provisioned for HERE Location Reasoning. You can get a provisioned account by subscribing to HERE Location Reasoning, or by asking the owner of an existing subscription to invite you to their organization.
Sign in to that account on your device before you authenticate, because Kiro uses your active HERE browser session.
An account that is not provisioned for HERE Location Reasoning can still authorize the power, but tool calls will fail. If authorization succeeds and tools still return errors, confirm that your account is provisioned.
Install the power
-
In Kiro, go to Powers.
-
Select Add Custom Power.
-
Select Import from GitHub, then paste the plugin URL:
https://github.com/heremaps/here-location-reasoning-plugin

Authenticate
- Go to MCP servers.
- Select Authenticate for HERE Location Reasoning.
- Allow browser pop-ups so the sign-in window can open, then authorize Kiro to access HERE Location Reasoning.
After you authorize access, Kiro can call HERE Location Reasoning tools.
