Introduction to the HERE Safety Cameras Feed API

The HERE Safety Cameras Feed API is a RESTful API that provides lists of fixed safety camera locations and available mobile camera locations, as well as known enforcement points and traps of other types, all of which filter by country and camera type (static/mobile). Additionally, this API allows you to perform proximity, bounding box, and corridor searches for safety cameras within a geospatial area and returns both static and live camera locations.

Legal restrictions

HERE conducts legal reviews before delivering certain premium content. For safety camera information, certain countries have legal restrictions and, in any country, legal restrictions around safety cameras may be introduced or changed at any time.

For example, in January of 2012, a law became effective in France that bans speed camera products that provide the actual location of a speed camera. End users that don't comply with the local law risk a fine of € 1,500 and a withdrawal of six points on their driving license. Instead of providing the actual location of a speed camera, the information is instead provided in the form of a danger zone.

HERE reserves the rights to remove any data from the HERE Safety Cameras Feed API service at any time based upon legal review. In any case, HERE customers are solely responsible for the legally compliant implementation of content provided by the HERE Safety Cameras Feed API.
