POI proximity data removal

POI (point of interest) proximity data removal allows you to define sensitive areas where trace points or events are deleted.

To use this feature, you must define the following items in the configuration of the service:

  • The location of the POI which is the center of the area in which the data is removed.
  • The radius of the area around the POI in which the data is removed.

HERE Anonymizer Self-Hosted supports updating configuration at runtime, which allows a high degree of flexibility when defining POIs for proximity data removal. For example, data removal can be enabled only for a part of a day.

Examples of POIs for which POI proximity data removal can be applied to comply with local regulations include:

  • Schools
  • School bus stops, if marked and/or known, during period when school children are present at the stop
  • Hospitals
  • Churches, synagogues, mosques, or other institutions of worship, such as buildings rented for the purpose of religious services
  • Sites of a funeral, wedding, or other public religious ceremony
  • Public demonstrations, such as a marches, rallies, or parades
