Fleet Optimization Package concepts

This topic provides information useful to understanding the HERE approach to fleet management, with terminology and links to API references.

The Fleet Optimization Package bundles five different HERE API products, each of which contributes to performing part of your task. These products each have an API Reference and a Developer Guide to provide detailed information.

For more details, see the links for each of the five API products below.

HERE Tour Planning API

The HERE Tour Planning API allows you to dynamically optimize routes for multiple vehicles visiting a set of locations given real-life constraints, such as limited capacity in a vehicle or delivery time windows.

HERE Geocoding & Search API

HERE Geocoding and Search allows you to create location-enabled applications that enable you to search for HERE Points of Interest (POIs), forward/reverse geocode addresses, and geopositions from the HERE map.

HERE Routing API v8 (including traffic and truck routing)

The HERE Routing API is an HTTP JSON REST API that provides route calculation between two or more locations for several regions in the world. The HERE Routing API allows you to specify options that influence route calculation, as well as request additional information related to the route to suit specific needs.

HERE Map Rendering

HERE Map Rendering enables you to access and customize maps using vector tiles and raster tiles.

HERE Vector Tile API v2

The HERE Vector Tile API is the web service through which you can access vector tiles containing HERE Map content. Each vector tile comprises raw geometric data that represents various map elements, including roads, buildings, bodies of water, and points of interest. This data is essential for displaying a specific map area at a predefined zoom level.

HERE Raster Tile API v3

The HERE Raster Tile API interface enables retrieving map tile images that you can combine to create a complete map on a device or application. This API provides a range of features and pre-defined styles, allowing you to customize the map appearance to your specific requirements.
