Introduction to Traffic Analytics

Traffic Analytics is a data product intended for analysts who analyze historical traffic information. It provides a record of traffic speed observations on roads and volume based on probe counts, using the same GPS probe data as HERE Real-Time Traffic.

A Traffic Analytics dataset is flexible in analytical applications, preserving as much information as possible for the data analyst. You can access the Traffic Analytics dataset by submitting queries focused on a few roads for a few minutes, or a very large and broad area spanning years.

Traffic Analytics supports five years of historical data. The earliest data available is for January 1, 2020. The Traffic Analytics website indicates the earliest and latest date available to you, based on your commercial agreement with HERE, once you enter a location. The latest data takes at least 48 hours to be available.

Approximately once per year, HERE updates the HERE Map version used in Traffic Analytics. Effective March 17, 2025, Traffic Analytics information must match with the Q424 (241G0, S241R3) HERE Map for proper display.

Your product license normally limits you to a subset of this coverage. In three countries, the TMC codes used by Traffic Analytics are slightly altered from the accepted standards. The standard country codes for Greece, Indonesia, and Andorra conflict with those for other countries, so they have been remapped in Traffic Analytics as follows:
