Traffic Analytics API admin ID and admin level

One of the parameters required for query execution is admin id and admin level, which are HERE internal identifiers representing an area of interest. The following is an example where there are steps to locate admin id and admin level for Chicago.

  1. Login to the Traffic Analytics website and enter the location of interest, for example, Chicago, and add other query criteria.
  2. Submit the query and wait for a completion email.
  3. In that email, find the link to download the metadata.
  4. Download the metadata txt file and locate the text “inputSource=” within it. The text following “inputSource=” contains the admin ID and admin level, separated by a comma.

Example: Find a location

In the text “inputSource= 23061460,L2”: 23061460 is the admin id and 2 is the admin level.

Note

In this test query, don't select individual TMCs or LinkIDs. If you use that feature, then inputSource is set to a different internal value, and won't contain the admin ID you need.
