Data sources

The Data Inspector Library relies on the source data from structured data sources. There are several types of data sources:

• File: A local file that you import into your library.
• Catalog: A connection to a catalog in the HERE platform.
• Layer: Each Data API catalog can have multiple layers with different data.
• Coverage: A special "meta" data source that you pair with a standard data source. This data source shows you coverage information for the paired data source. For more information, see Coverage Data.

If you are using a platform catalog as a data source, you will need to authenticate with the platform and obtain permissions to access that catalog from the catalog owner.
