Travel modes table
A number of travel modes are available in the network dataset for use in network analyses for ArcGIS Pro® users. A travel mode is a set of preselected restrictions and parameters that are useful for setting up analyses. You can modify travel modes at run time to suit a particular use-case.
The following table describes travel modes in the network dataset.
| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Driving Time (Traffic) | Driving car or small truck. The impedance is travel time which uses historic traffic data to calculate traversal time whenever you specify a start time travel obeys one-way roads, avoids illegal turns, and follows other rules applicable to cars. |
| FreeFlowDrivingTime | Driving car or small truck. The impedance is free flow time. Free flow time is the fastest recorded time in the historic traffic profiles for traversal of a street segment. Travel obeys one-way roads, avoids illegal turns, and follows other rules applicable to cars. |
| EstimatedWeekendDrivingTime | Driving car or small truck. The impedance is weekend fallback time, which is the average recorded speed for a street segment during the weekend. Travel obeys turns and oneway restrictions and other rules applicable to cars. |
| EstimatedWeekDayDrivingTime | Driving car or small truck. Weekday fallback time is the impedance calculated from the average recorded speed for a street segment during the weekdays (Mon-Fri). Travel obeys turns and oneway restrictions and other rules applicable to cars. |
| DrivingDistance | Driving car or small truck. The impedance is travel distance. Travel obeys one-way roads, avoids illegal turns, and follows other rules applicable to cars. |
| TruckTime(speed limit) | Driving truck. The impedance is truck travel time based on the truck speed limit where available otherwise general speed limit (capped at maximum truck speed) if available, or finally speed_kph (capped at maximum truck speed). Travel obeys one- way roads, avoids illegal turns, and follows other rules applicable to trucks. |
| Walking | Walking. The impedance is walking time, which assumes a speed of 5km/hr and with restrictions on pedestrian access applied. |
| DrivingTimeSpeedLimit | Driving car or small truck. The impedance is travel time based on speed limits. Travel obeys one-way roads, avoids illegal turns, and follows other rules applicable to cars. |
| DrivingTimeSpeed_KPH | Driving car or small truck. The impedance is travel time based on speed_KPH (from HERE speed category). Travel obeys one-way roads, avoids illegal turns, and follows other rules applicable to cars. |
