Places locator

The places locator uses the place name as the primary search term, followed by the place category and any available address elements, such as the street address, locality, state, or postcode.

When the locator finds a place, it returns any relevant ancillary details available in the dataset, along with the geocoded result. These include:

• Contact details (email, fax, phone, mobile, web address, and other)
• Chain name
• Cuisine type name
• Quality level
• Primary place name
• National importance
• Population
