Highways feature class (Highways)

The Highways feature class is a subset of the Streets feature class where FUNCTIONAL_CLASS equals 1 or 2.

| FUNCTIONAL_CLASS | Integer (4) | The functional class of street segments defines the segment's role within the hierarchical street network and determines logical and efficient routes in routing applications. Available values are: - FUNCTIONAL_CLASS = 1: High volume, maximum speed traffic movement between and through major metropolitan areas.- FUNCTIONAL_CLASS = 2: Channels traffic to class 1 roads with high volume and high speed movement.- FUNCTIONAL_CLASS = 3: Interconnects class 2 roads and supports high volume movement at lower mobility.- FUNCTIONAL_CLASS = 4: Supports high volume movement at moderate speeds between neighbourhoods.- FUNCTIONAL_CLASS = 5: Lowest volume and movement class, including walkways and special-purpose roads |
