Country feature class (Country)

The Country feature class contains the administrative boundary for all countries in the dataset. This layer also provides attribute information such as the appropriate name for each administrative level units of measure, language code, side of the road for driving, currency, and so on.

Field name Data type Description
ADMIN_PLACE_ID Integer (4) Unique ID for the administrative area. This is a foreign key to the Admin table
NAME String (100) The name of the administrative area
LANGUAGE_CODE String (3) Standard code for the language associated with the feature name
NAME_LATIN String (100) The name of the administrative area, using Latin character set
LANGUAGE_CODE_LATIN String (3) Standard code for the language associated with the feature name, using Latin character set
COUNTRY_ID Integer (4) Unique ID for the country
UNIT_OF_MEASURE String (1) Identifies the unit of measure mostly used in that country to describe road and traffic conditions.
  • M - Metric (kilometres and metres)
  • E - English (miles and feet)
CURRENCY_PRECISION Integer (4) Identifies the number of digits used after the decimal point or comma for the currency in question. Values are 0-7
DRIVING_SIDE String (1) Identifies the legal driving side in a country.
  • L - Left side driving
  • R - Right side driving
CURRENCY_TYPE String (3) Identifies the default currency of a country, for example, AUD. The three-character currency codes are based on ISO Standard 4217
PHONE_COUNTRY_CODE String (4) Identifies the international dialling code for a country
PHONE_PREFIX String (2) The prefix of a phone number. The phone number prefix precedes the phone area code for international country dialling. This is sometimes a leading 0 and part of the area code when dialling inside a country. When dialing from outside a country, this prefix is obsolete
SPEED_LIMIT_UNIT String (1) Identifies the unit of measure for speed limits.
  • K - kilometres per hour
  • M - miles per hour
COUNTRY_DESCRIPTION String (35) Country Administrative level description.The description is in the local language of the country
ORDER_1_DESCRIPTION String (35) Administrative level 1 description, for example, State. The description is in the local language of the country
ORDER_2_DESCRIPTION String (35) Administrative level 2 description. The description is in the local language of the country
ORDER_8_DESCRIPTION String (35) Administrative level 8 description, for example, LGA. The description is in the local language of the country.rg LGA
BUILTUP_DESCRIPTION String (35) Administrative level 8 description, for example, SettlementThe description is in the local language of the country
HOUSE_NUMBER_FORMAT String (1) Identifies if the house number (address) precedes or follows the street name. Available values are:
  • A - House number is after the street name
  • B - House number is before the street name
ISO_COUNTRY_CODE String (3) ISO 3 character country code
EBU_COUNTRY_CODE String (1) Country code defined by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU)
