Adjust map readability

High-quality map legibility is a fundamental aspect of designing user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing maps. Achieving optimal legibility involves focus on such key factors like label and icon size, label truncation, and padding. The HERE Map Image API offers the following methods for adjusting map readability:

  • Label and icon size: Adjust the size of labels and icons on the map image for better visibility and clarity.

For more information, see Modify label and icon size.

  • Label truncation: Enable label truncation to hide cropped labels on the map image.

For more information, see Conceal cut-off labels.

  • Padding: Add extra space around the edges of the map image to prevent overlay features from being cut off, enhancing overall map presentation.

For more information, see Enhance map borders with padding.
